Re: New: Phonocut Desktop Disc Cutter
What are your take on it ? You should check this post out by Mike: https://www.lathetrolls.com/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=8328 Welcome to the world of record cutting. It's super expensive no matter how you look at it. I've been cutting for a while now and am still hemmoraging money in my business. But I ...

Re: Where to Buy T560?
Personally, I have had nothing but great experiences with Souri. Patience is probably the best advice I can give you. My process took quite some time but it was all worth it in the end.

Re: without stylus heat
I assume you are cutting with a VR?
Sorry for the dumb question. Have you tried re-calibrating the needle/head again to see if it fixes the issue?

Re: Complete newbie seeking guidance
You can always use an external amp to power the cutter head. You really need to find a cutting head though. I do have some experience with a K-8 as it was my first lathe. I'd be happy to chime in and help where I can.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Re: Vinyl Recorder T560 Overhead Motor
I SWEAR I stumbled on a post a while back where someone said they knew the make/model of the motor that powered the overhead. :shrugs:
Sorry to hear you were ghosted. Hopefully you can get this ironed out and get back up and running again.

Re: Heat Affecting Dashpot?
The issue has reared it's ugly head once again! Yesterday at 2pm, 33 degrees outside (much hotter inside) and i had been cutting all day, so the VR had a lot of use that day. I've been reading the points people made and testing things, so due to the metal, sounds like the spring can't change tensio...

Hi soeffingodly, soeffingodly Wrote :- I had to prop it up a bit. Re: sp10 mk2 combination.
So far I have yet to experience any wow or flutter like I did with the original 1200. Especially at the outer edge or with marginally warped discs. Mike gave me a great deal. I'm super grateful. Heard the electronics can get crazy in them though. I would have gone SP-10 MKII but I couldn't pass this...

Re: sp10 mk2 combination.
I'm using an SP-15 and I have zero issues with it needing an extra push. I would assume the SP-10 shouldn't need anything "extra" either.

Re: Vinyl Recorder Stereo Problem
Update Apparently the VR is designed so that when there’s heavy bass, all left and right sounds are automatically panned to the middle, making it more mono. Not entirely mono, but definitely less stereo. I did a test with equalizing the same piece. Cutting away excessive bass, with the result that ...

Curious to know, if you don't mind sharing, is this the same lathe you had posted about selling a few days prior? Change of heart? Same lathe model but not the same lathe. I sold my Presto stuff last year. As far as I know the gent who got my K8 still has it. I just wish I had a nice, portable, sma...

Re: VR suction problem
On the PSU, the connector/end that would normally plug into the appliance, i snipped that off. Then in the main unit, the section that is circled in the image, disconnect the white block form the board (this is the power to the EQ piggy backed from Pitch motor), then snip that white block off. Then...

Ah haha! Well, thanks! It was extremely useful! I used this for my PSU (link below), chopped the wires and chop blocked them together.... I've had no issues so far in over a year. Also i posted the other day in here about Noise ID, a very weird sound that was kinda like when you get plastic stuck t...
