Re: Cutting head Rek-o-Kut Challenger
Hard to tell from the picture but it looks like the solder joins on the coil wires are cold. A careful desolder, inspections and resolder would be good plan of action.

Re: Rek-0-kut Challenger TR-12H
A few thoughts... I know that I've asked if you had the schematic in the past and cant remember... If you have it, please post it. If you are lucky the schematic will be glued to the inside of the bottom cover of the system. Having the schematic will make things much easier. I fully expect this amp ...

Re: Rek-0-kut Challenger TR-12H question
I am going off the response you received in an earlier thread and have no direct experience with your cutter amp. If the provided schematics were incorrect the details below may also be incorrect... Have you confirmed if you amp is the same as the R8 amplifier in the Imperial as mentioned in the ear...

Re: Rek-0-kut Challenger TR-12H question
Do you have a link to the schematic? If so helping is pretty easy but it will only get you a part of way there. It is best to verify each cap in the unit to account for any production changes or previous modifications. I prefer to order most of my parts from Mouser. Where are you located?

Re: Presto 6n motor bogging down temporarily
Pretty sure this is not your issue, cause what I experienced is more of a drop out, but figured it is worth throwing out there... Are the power switches on the lathes original? While restoring my recently acquired EU7 setup, I had an issue where the motor would just drop out entirely sometimes for a...

Re: Replacement Platter Mats or DIY Alternatives
Hey all,
A bit late it getting this reply up... Overall I am very happy with the platter mat for my Presto EU7 setup. It was purchased from ebay seller Number1Gasketshop in the UK. Crappy picture but it was the only one on my phone...

Re: Looking for center spindle clamp
I took two pics of the KAB record clamp and posted them on imgur for clarity. It's clamping mechanism is quite different than the others and it is very light weight. I'm not sure how tall the Mitchel clamp is, but this on is approximately 1 inch tall.

Re: Looking for center spindle clamp
I'm not sure if you have enough spindle to use the Kab Super Record Grip but I have had good success with it.

Hey all,
Big thanks for the replies and PM's. I should be good to go now.

Replacement Platter Mats or DIY Alternatives
Hello All, First post here on Lathe Trolls... The platter mat on the early Presto 6D that I am cleaning up is torn and creased from being stored on its side for who knows how many years. Are there any vendors that make/sell 16 inch platter mats for transcription tables that I can modify to work? I f...
