Re: presto 45 speed adapter

Len Horowitz can get you one. What I do for 45 rpm on my k8 is I record the song on a tascam portastudio 414 with the variable tape speed all the way up then when I cut the record I move the tape speed down so that a G note would sound like the next lowest D or C I forget which. The point is that 16...

yeah those steel needles wear out pretty darn fast...i'm pretty sure i trust myself enough with this machine to go a little deeper and get the presto needle. got some new plastic epoxy today because i wanna glue two picnic plates together and put little paper labels in the middle. looks real pro. my...

Re: and that's how ANNOYING SQUEAL RECORDDS was born

the amp is totally clean. sometimes it gives a little radio station here and there when running too long...i'd like a variac to run it properly (although a lot of the old tube stuff performs like 11x better with those 10 extra volts!) i've been getting really nice lo-fi (upper mid-range dominant) cu...

and that's how ANNOYING SQUEAL RECORDDS was born

i found some old recordio equipment at an estate sale in the boonies and the guy just had regular steel needles from the old victrolas in the cutting heads. i've never tried that but it seems like it would work for simple embossing. also picked up the top plate from an old recordio for ten bucks. mo...

oh that makes sense- i figured out that to disengage the lead screw and stop the whole cutting process ya just kinda hold the arm up off the record and push down on the butt of the arm with a some bit of pressure and the lead screw disengages the hell out of itself. about the same amount of pressure...

yeah as far as I know i'm the only one in the eugene/springfield area who has anything like this. I'm thinking that i can drill a hole in the upper-right corner of the thing and make a little lever that's attached to the tab that keeps the screw engaged so I can just kind of wank the thing outta the...
