Record Factory for Sale - Jacksonville, FL, USA

Hey Trolls, Berlin here. It's been a while, been busy cutting and pressing records for the last 10 years. After nearly 10 years of pressing, my little record factory has closed. It is currently for sale as is, but open to offers on equipment. At it's core, this is the equipment: ● 2x Newbilt semi-au...

Re: T560 Stylus Heating when Bypassing Main Unit

Yes!! But... You still need to use the main unit to control stylus heating and pitch/groove distance. My advice is to not overthink it and just worry about cutting great records which is totally doable with the Souri main unit and mixer! - just do what Souri says in Germany and you’ll cut great! Bes...

Re: Where Were These Pressed?

I believe the yarn one is done by placing warmed pellets on the stamper itself and then layering the yarn, and then another layer of clear pellets. All pellets have to be warmed tho!!

Re: How to eliminate the echo on my VR?

Echo is likely from the grooves kissing. Increase groove distance or lower disc volume!

Cheers!

PVC :: Why do we use PVC??

Curious why PVC is what we use and not some other hard, less toxic, plastic?? Any insight?

Cheers,

Re: Dust/Cleaning issue

This is always a struggle! When we first started pressing, we weren't even aware of this issue, tho it was prevalent. We have nearly eliminated the issue entirely, tho it does rear its ugly head from time to time. Unfortunately the stampers are likely wasted when the issue does arise. I've asked nea...

Re: vinyl dishing problem

Yo! So in my experience, if you are using metal stacking plates, they need to be warmed to a room temp or the temp of the record. Stainless steel and aluminum are usually cold to the touch, so I just have a little lamp warming them (the metal ones) If you put a warm record on a cool stacking plate, ...

Re: PETG Blank Discs

Yeah I've cut with PETG.

It's probably the closest thing that I can find.

You can have PETG made like Souri Black Sandwhiches.

I have had great results with PETG.

Poly Carbonate however, sounds great, but wears out your stylus so fast.

Video Tour of Mastercraft

Was poking around online looking for stamper creation videos and came across this video from another troll (though I'm not sure who). Thought I would share! I know many of us have used Desmond and his team at mastercraft for our stampers. Hope you enjoy this video as much as I did. And THANKS to who...

For Sale : VinylRecorder T-560

Hey everyone. Welp! The time has home to sell my VinylRecorder T-560. It is a bittersweet moment. The first lathe that got my hands into the cutting game. Sad to see it go, but I just have no use for it these days. Works great. Sounds great, but on to bigger and better things! Located in the USA! Wi...

Re: Boiler Pressure / Temperature??

Thanks Aussie. Haha, yes we've had to move our cutting table closer and closer to our presses. Always looking for ways to shorten our cycle time yet maintain quality. Currently running two people for our two presses. One man doing the loading of labels and biscuits, the other unloading, trimming, qu...

Boiler Pressure / Temperature??

Hey Trolls. Seeking some guidance. Up and running for about 9 months now, and things have been quite the learning experience as almost every setting / variable that we have been told by RPA and NewBilt has had to change drastically, as I understand every pressing facility is different. Just curious ...

Hello Trolls. It's been a while. Been busy with our new factory down here in Florida, VINYLrp, pressing like crazy. But! Re: Picture Discs Question

Hey brother! I had great success making picture discs. Here is one that I made for my band a couple years ago. https://youtu.be/SWQ5TsuraF4 However, I did a few things differently. I don't use Souri's stock. I have a print guy here in Jacksonville that does all my printing for labels, jackets, etc, ...

Re: VinylRecorder Groove speed motor noise through record

Glad you found a solution. If you rack up all of your units, a ground loop is created. I'm not sure why Souri doesn't isolate the power better, but it is what it is. My Solution was to unrack each unit. They now free stand and have rubber feet so no metal is touching from unit to unit, thus killing ...
