Re: Electric & Musical Industries (E.M.I.) MC-4B Lathe Photo

Hi Gus, The Plot Thickens, as you've pointed this out, that the Seller does not Ship to Greece, but immediately beneath that in the Ebay Listing, it states the item is Located in Greece!! What gives??? A most curious Sale (Or NOT!!) Caveat Emptor. Regards  :P :D Soulbear This may be of more u...

Re: Electric & Musical Industries (E.M.I.) MC-4B Lathe Photo

I saw the serial number when this was first posted, I suspect it is a mis-list as it is not a stereo cutter head as listed or stereo cutting lathe. As there would only be one of those and that sits in the EMI archive. This is the mono lathe that Blumlein invented to get around the patents for which ...

Re: Electric & Musical Industries (E.M.I.) MC-4B Lathe Photo

Pretty sure that there is a link to the EMI Archive and Museum on their website, you can visit it by appointment only, would a quick email to them not elicit the answer? I have too many other pressing issues to deal with but it is my opinion that said work by Blumlein lies in the EMI Archive at Haye...

Re: Electric & Musical Industries (E.M.I.) MC-4B Lathe Photo

It most certainly is listed as stated, just checked, however there are a number of questions I have. Why would that item be in Greece, it is my understanding that it was a one off, built at Hayes. It is my understanding that all said equipment is in the EMI archive/museum in Hayes. It was experiment...

Re: Free Scully Lathe!

If it was not being listed as free to haul away, what would the current market price of Scully range from not working to fully working, ball park figures? I suspect that many of the Scully machines (given that they are mostly a solid block of metal) went to the scrap yard when the switch took place ...

Re: Free Scully Lathe!

This is KrisD's dream machine and we've talked to Ray and are gonna get it. He is soooo stoked! Yes him and me both, had I been able to get it to float and a long enough piece of rope I would have dragged it across the Atlantic Ocean for that price, thus avoiding shipping and import duties. I do no...

Re: Sugden Connoisseur back on french Leboncoin website

Sounds like a scam indeed. but what's the point ? "Le bon Coin" is mainly about face to face transactions so if you are supposed to actually do the transaction, you will see and obviously try the machine. Maybe the guy expect a distant transaction (good luck finding a "pigeon" like we say in France...

Re: RCA Lathe! Can someone help me identify the model?

I suspect that your model is single speed i.e. 78 rpm only it is probably an earlier model in the RCA 73 Range.

I found this which should help you: http://www.americanradiohistory.com/Archive-Catalogs/RCA/RCA-Broadcast-Equipment-1940.pdf

Re: Stereo to Mono switch with phase inverter Circuit.

Hi Dane, Looking over your Circuit, if I'm reading it correctly, it looks like in Switch Position 1 the Stereo Signal passes through unaltered. In Switch Position 2, the Signal is Summed to Mono in a similar way to the Circuits within this PDF, but with the addition, that Left Output is in Anti-pha...

Hi There Pandapolar, Is the power supply in Oz the 50Hz 240Volts like we've got here in the U.K.? And is the Miessner set up for this 240V, 50Hz, or is it still U.S. Specification? I can't find the one you say finished yesterday... Any chance of a link? £370 is a bargain. I hope it went to a good home. You will not find it under Connoisseur as he made a bit of mistake in listing it you will see it in the title for the time that it can be viewed on eBay that is. The search you...

Re: Rcherche wiring diagram for Rack SV32SR for Neumann AM32

I have a couple of questions: Why did the resistors fail? Is there another fault which caused the resistors to fail? If yes then you need to resolve that issue as well as replacing the burnt out resistor. The other question is what is all that gunk around the replaced electrolytic capacitor? Is it l...
