Helium Flow Meter

Looking for a supplier or dealer that sells the helium flow meter that shows how much helium that is flowing from the helium tank to your cutter head. I recall it was a clear square Plexiglas cylinder that sat next to the lathe or the tank. It had red numbers and lines on it, with a small ball that ...

Re: WTB - Neumann VMS 60 or 66

Don't worry. Your never to late to the party.
I will have my system up and running by mid spring.
Be ready though to come up with a bit of $$ for a Neumann system.

Re: Audiodisc Name Change (Apollo Dubplates, Reference Lites

Soak them in a metal tub of MEK, Methyl Ethyl Ketone. The coating will come off real fast.
Watch out though, Use in a well ventilated area and keep away from heat and flame.
A pretty nasty solvent. MEk will go a long way and will clean a lot of disks.

Re: Who know about this lathe machine?

In the photo it looks like there are two VU meters so it must be a stereo recorder.
Nice machine for it's age.

So sad to hear this news. I always enjoyed catching up with Al at the AES shows.
I heard him speak last October at NY AES about disk cutting. He was a great teacher when I was a student of his at the The Institute of Audio Research. He will be missed greatly.

I have been looking for a cutting system for a few years now. This one is in one of the worst systems I have seen. I agree with you audadvnc, it will take a long time before you will see any return from this lathe. Also you need to think about the front end of the system, such as, Eq's compressors, ...
