Re: Turntable Speed Regulation

Hi! If the power supply is a PC type switched one, Is usually operated with error amplifiers, I mean, comparing the voltage supplyed with a reference voltage, and altering the PWM rate to adjust output. the way the spsu senses its output can be altered to sense a device providing voltage proportiona...

Re: Turntable Speed Regulation

other option i have is to use an ashland hysteresis motor with a frequency inverter and belt drive the platter.
it would be goo as i already have a stash of these motors from my old ampexes.

Re: Turntable Speed Regulation

i saw flo's circuit. i am more inclined to use an opamp design. someone told me today that i could do that regulation in the psu instead of the driver. clues?

Turntable Speed Regulation

hello trolls, i am in the process of building a turntable to my lathe. i need now some tips on a speed regulation circuit. i am working with a dc motor and a pwm driver based on ne555. i can go easily from 16 to 78 without loosing torque. my platter is around 12kg aluminum (with a car flywheel added...

Re: Lathe Trolling

Hi, welcome in forum. First answer : with a lathe you can use too polycarbonate, not only acetates. Polyc. is a good material for start to do experiments with your lathe. Second : about the source, depend of which blank you speak : if pc ( polyc. ) is easy; if acetate is more difficult and not chea...

Re: Piezo Feedback

The tube torque receive the vibrations from togheter the channels, left and right, and transfer the music with the cutting stylus to disc surface in a groove. The best material for build it (I think) is aluminium. Thanks Raffaello, got it, But how is it supposed to be linked to the armature. It has...

Re: Piezo Feedback

Great advice Mark,

I have been reading a lot on the subject, although i am not a native english speaker...
One thing that still remains a mistery to me is the torque tube, how is it suposed to behave and what is the best material to use?

Thanks for the tips!

Re: Piezo Feedback

It's important to note before you do this that if the signal is out of phase at a nominal test frequency (say 1 kHz), it's not necessarily going to stay that way once you approach and exceed the secondary resonance frequency. At some point the moving mass (coils, torque tube, et cetera) is going to...

Re: Piezo Feedback

Cool , has someone experimented something like that ? I'm still not convinced why a piezo disc glued to the torque tube could not be used as feedback... I use a piezo disc in my diy plate reverb with very good results. I've done some experimentation using a ceramic stereo pickup coupled to my DIY h...
