Acrylic is not the best , its expensive, it cracks easy. Not much tensile strength, no weight to it either.

I make mine out of aluminum. It's cheaper than brass. And more easy to work with than iron. I wouldn't worry about vibration in platter. I worry about vibration in whole machine.

that looks pretty good, it is very close so I bet It would work well.
the tube on the one In my picture was far away on accident, I was just mocking it up.

The tube was custom made . Very easy to make at home.
You need a tube flaring tool.
And a tube bending tool. And a hack saw

rek o cut vacuum tube bracket

Here is a simple vacuum tube bracket.
I have it coming over the top becaus. There isn't any room beneath the feed screw.
Has anyone else come up with a different way to position the vacuum on these machines ?

I tried to make a rekocut screw under 2 hours but it was too difficult. I value the screws at 350$ a piece because of everything that is involved. with or with out the gears. as far as I know im the only one making presto screws and it took a while to get those right. getting a rekocut screw made wo...
