Re: EQing for flat cuts on T560
I made a perfect DSP chain for the Vinyl Recorder when I owned one. It took over 100 blanks and numerous diamonds but the end result was perfect “press” like cuts every time. Forget Souri’s settings, he’s a great mechanical engineer/designer but far from a half decent sound engineer. The fact he ped...

Re: Elmo Rietschle Heavy Duty Dual Suction Pump
We use a slightly newer version of this. Pretty much the same but has a plastic enclosure over the whole thing. You can regulate the suction with the knobs on top!
They're suprisingly quiet also! Much better then a noisy inefficient Hoover!

I've seen someone snap the lid off a souri chip jar with one of these. Very powerful but suprisingly quiet!
Basically you have to make sure you use professional connections throughout otherwise things will either break or you'll get leakage.

No, from all the symptoms your head is half cooked! You'll even find that your amp is using much more power than normal due to the lower resistance.

"recommendations for a quiet pump/shop vac that can do high suction at low db level for around 200 euros?"

Re: Wanted Vinylrecorder T560-T580
You need to measure the freq response of the head and then correct with a PEQ in the chain before you do anything.

Re: Wanted Vinylrecorder T560-T580
Hi Obi Bryan has beaten me to it! Yes you need to start the chain with a multiband comp (4 band). Not to alter the dynamics but to catch any stray peaks (mainly on bands 3 and 4) that will otherwise come through as distortion when cutting LOUD! After this I suggest a parametric with a custom curve f...

Re: STANTON ST150 & OTHER SUPER OEM TT FOR CUTTING WITH EXAM
I haven't seen any problems with a Technics SL1200, you just have to make sure stylus heat is correct to avoid the audio "wobble".

Re: Wanted Vinylrecorder T560-T580
I've seen and heard 1st hand, perfect, loud, flat response cuts on a vinyl recorder once you master a perfect paremetric eq, compressor and limiter chain! As good as the best cuts!
But out of the box from Souri, without this, not so good!

I'll take a pair but can I be awkward and gave then WITHOUT the driver cut outs? These holes limit the choices for me?
Let me know.

Re: Wanted Vinylrecorder T560-T580
I agree, looks great with features, not criticising but one could make successful cuts for half price using T560.
I know someone here who is seriously interested in the ZEZ and if they buy they will sell me their T560.
I think everyone waiting for final price, reviews, videos etc.

I have also been trying to buy a lathe from Souri for over a year with little or no communication.
Zez cutter looks nice but current list price is a bit unrealistic. But maybe the video will prove its worth!
