I will send it back to you and send you a email with some pictures of the screw installed in the lathe.
Thanks!

Presto 6N Feedscrew mounting problem
Hello, i have a question and i hope some one out there can help. I got a feed screw recently and upon installing it on my Presto 6N i noticed that it would not rotate properly and spin smooth. Upon taking it off to inspect it. I noticed the mounting holes where the cones go are really big compared t...

Re: diy blank
thats so awesome your able to emboss on picnic plates.
everytime i try to emboss on them with tungsten it just shreds the plate up no matter how much weight i adjust or angle.
i just end up cutting them with those Russian shanks from ebay which seems to work ok with them.

Re: skipping around outer edges
im having the same issue as well with embossing 10” its like the first 30 seconds or so the needle randomly skips but later on in the record everything tracks perfect. i am using a Presto 6N with Fairchild cutting head with Tungsten needles. i do not get the skipping when embossing 7”, 8” records. Re: Tungsten Needle in Neumann Ms 52H
not so the MS52. but this one already has some adaptor for smaller styli. but why not just force a big nail into a precision device made for small gems... i had a adaptor made by Len Horowitz to fit a 320 stylus. i measured the diameter of the 320 stylus and it is around 1.21 mm or so . from there ...

Re: Double Groove/Horserace 6n/8n feedscrews Preorder!
When did you get yours? I placed a order for mine back in April and have not gotten it yet. You are lucky! I always get left in the dust when ordering feed screws. I ordered it months ago too. It just came very late last week. I think I lucked out because I had ordered some blanks and embossing sap...

Tungsten Needle in Neumann Ms 52H
i just narrowed down one of those tungsten needles off of ebay to fit inside a Neumann MS 52H cutting head.
I am waiting for my adaptor to arrive in the mail to mount the cutting head onto my Presto.
i will get back with results on how it goes.

Re: A New Source for Blank Records
It dosn't seem as though there is anything to be lost by giving this a chance; so unless there's a reason to criticize, why? I don't see anything sneaky or under-handed going on here, and the free sample pack is a nice gesture. I'm in for the free sample pack as well, and that should give me a good...

That is great news.BLANQ wrote:
Thanks for this, I'm so glad they're working for you. A little too much laser strength for the thinner material caused those holes to be a pinch too big. We've already corrected that. Thanks again!

Re: A New Source for Blank Records
So my tester pack arrived yesterday and I had some time to do a test emboss with the 1mm 7". it seemed to work really well! I am using the tungsten needles found on Ebay mounted inside a Fairchild cutting head and it seems to work really well. I currently have it dialed in for embossing on Polycarbo...

Re: Leaning back
When you say the high frequencies seemed squashed when adding more weight. Maybe try boosting the highs a bit more to compensate for the loss? i have my cutting head (Fairchild) leaning as far back as i can go with the weight of it fully slammed on my 6N. i seem to be getting pretty decent embossed ...

Re: plastic plate embossing
thanks for the reply. so i just tried embossing on the picnic plate and it sounded bad.
no matter what i tried ( adjusting angle, weight) i got bad results.
i am using a Presto K8 with the Tungsten shanks from Ebay.
i will stick to embossing on polycarbonate since i have my rig dialed in for that.

Re: plastic plate embossing
thats some awesome results for embossing on plastic plates.
i have been using polycarbonate but i will have to try it out on the plates.
any tips or how to get it dialed in?
i figure you gotta angle it back?

Re: Question .. riding cutter head?
Cutting heads usually have a “Advance Ball” which is mounted in front of the cutting needle.
It is mounted slightly in front of the shank and rides on the laquer or what ever medium you are cutting on. It keeps the Shank at a constant depth from small warps in the medium you are cutting.

Re: New Project- Presto 14B / Caruso
try putting more weight on the cutting head. Then you will have some deeper grooves for the needle to ride on. Also you can try pulling the cutting shank out the head a bit to so you can angle the head and also give the needle more weight. Also have you put a fuse inline with the cutting head and am...
