Re: Warped blank records
I purchased a propagation heat mat , which is flat and heats to around 30c. Put a stack of discs on top of each other, eg: 20 disc pile. I've tried the propagation mat trick (thanks @David34!) and it kind of works with the most warped blanks, at least with the 1.5mm transparent ones I use. But the ...

Re: SP10 Rubber Mat - Uneven
It's been such a long time since I bought the mats that I can't be absolutely sure. However, as I'm in the UK, I think I used these guys: https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/number1gasketshop/Turntable-Mats/_i.html?_storecat=33339673011 They can make just about any size turntable mat you need - just send th...

Re: stylus heating question (plastic)
Thanks for the tips!Dub Studio wrote: ↑Mon Jun 27, 2022 7:02 amIf you have the precision plate, you can use that to absorb heat from the lamp (shine it around the edge). This then transfers to the transparent disc quite quickly and easily. in my experience, 40 degrees causes more problems than it solves. I rarely go above 30 degrees.

Re: stylus heating question (plastic)
Hi! I only have transparent blanks, soooo how can I heat them up to 35 or 40 C without heating the lathe too much?
Thanks for the info, very helpful thread!

Weird issue: Noise along with the signal
Dear trolls: I have a weird issue: When I send some signal to the head of my AU70-17-C I have noise along with the signal. I mean: If the input is three keyboard chords with pauses between, I hear the three chords mixed with (sort of white?) noise. There is no noise during the pauses, only when some...

Re: Vanrock/Atom and Myshank 462S vs. 462P & Synthetic
Hi!
After a year cutting with both models in my Hara M180 (same head as Atom/Vanrock), the 462P shank turned out to be more durable (and cheaper!). I've never got playback issues with 462P or 462S, by the way.
Best regards,
Fer

Re: Vanrock e101 screw problem
Sure! Screw thickness is 1.6mm, screw length is 9mm (12mm including the head), so I think you`ll need a M1.6x9 screw.Knights101 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 1:49 pmIs there anybody out there with a Vanrock e101 who can tell me the full specification for the 1.5mm stylus holding screw?
