Buy a can of automotive belt dressing. Give it a good soak, avoid getting the dressing on any of the inside gears. If the belt is still rough, file it down with a piece of emory. What is "emory" nothing found in google, Is it something to sand rubber? Thanks! yes essentially for sanding metal, I th...

Re: 10k Sibilants on Lacquers

thanks for your reply, I always start around 7k but this one had that annoying mosquito "eeeeeeyeeeeyeeyee" tone on top of the annoying "sssSSSSSSSSS" and even setting the threshold to duck over 10 dB the de-esser was still not being triggered by anything other that the vocal (in MS, not even the sn...

10k Sibilants on Lacquers

lacquer guys, finding a bunch of sibilance at 10k on tracks which are going to be 7 inch sounds tweaky if I leave it, so de-essing for digital is a good idea am I correct in assuming this would be really hard to cut, should I go even heavier for the lacquer master? the de-esser is already pulling ab...

Re: RIP Tom Dillander of Palomino Record Pressing...

hi pressure (over 15 psi) steam boiler installations have to be inspected and certified to legally operate, often annually, depending on the territory and application, every boiler inspector I've ever met is a serious professional from a marine/naval/industrial background with decades of experience,...

Re: RIP Tom Dillander of Palomino Record Pressing...

this is very strange, I am a certified boiler operator (really), its hard to make a boiler explode, in fact this is the first one I have ever heard of (although I've been out of the business for over 20 years and was only in it for 10),

any details on how this explosion occurred?
