It might be that the cutting needle could be getting dull?
Have you tried exchanging needles for a fresh one?

Re: Cutting Head gets really Hot

By checking do you mean, touching one probe to the metal casing and another probe to one of the leads to see if it beeps?

If so it does not beep.

I also checked by touching both probes to the leads coming out the head and it beeps.

Re: Cutting Head gets really Hot

Hello! Thank you for all the help and replies. I checked the resistance of the head and it measures around 4.9 to 5 ohms I also checked the armature. And realined it and made sure it was straight and used a piece of paper to make a gap on each side. I checked the grease thats inside thats used for d...

Re: Cutting Head gets really Hot

At one point before It started acting this way i accidently send a really strong signal into it and quickly the signal. After that incident it has b...

Cutting Head gets really Hot

Re: Ownership of Plates/masters

Re: Cutting flexis

The swarf came off differently on some of the xrays.
Some would come off nice and go towards the center and other ones would come of in strands and kinda stuck to the xray.

I would then have to lightly scrape it off.
They all played nice with no surface noise. I cut 35 one sided xrays.

Re: Cutting flexis

I did not use any heat. Maybe i should have.
Because now my needle seems to be cutting bad now!
I have tried adjusting the angle but now it just sounds horrible.

Before the shank going bad.
The records were sounding really clear and loud with no surface noise.

I have recently cut some xrays using myshank diamond stylus.

Re: Diamond Styli

I have a question about setting up the Diamond shank. I was looking at the pdf from Deep Grooves mastering on adjusting the angle of the shank to 15 to 20 degrees. Does this apply to all diamond needles (myshank, deep groove)? http://www.deepgroovesmastering.com/share/Plastic_Cutting_Guide.pdf I sen...

Re: Presto 6n feed screws

The reason i was just asking for lower count feedscrews was that i wanted to try and make some roulette records or double groove disc.

But if the demand isnt there no worries.
