Recording time = amazing .... is this a number of hours?
Can you give us an approximate recording hours you have, when used carefully?
On what material exactly you have tested. Maybe you can give a brand name of PVC manufaturer? Asking because I cannot find locally any PVC that have a mirror finish and protected from both sides. So I have to get around and find material to cut.
Thanks

I only cut now on blank pressed records. If you want to know the manufacturer of souri, I can let you know of course, but the minimum order is 2000/3000 T. (20000€)d wrote:Recording time = amazing .... is this a number of hours?

Life time depend a lot of what you cut and how high, but you can cut at least 150h.
The stylus is made with the best diamond ever done, and this explain the price too.
I can have cheaper diamond stylus like Souri, but I don't want, I prefer to pay a little bit more and to have big quality difference
Thanks for information. Best would be to know if it will be good for acrylic, polycarbonate or other material that can be bought at local plastics shop. Of course a lot depends on using the stylus but approximate numbers are good startI only cut now on blank pressed records. I think that if there is no problem with a pressed blank, then there of should be no concern with other plastics

I don't understand really what you mean with your stanton links, but you can be sure that Stanton don't use this diamond family for their cartridgeJuanPabloCuervo wrote:jewelry grade diamonds ?The Shank wrote:Hello,

Farking Diamonds
Hey Guys
It is the lay of the Grain that is important and not Natural V Man made
In actual fact man made diamonds do offer a number of advantages over natural stones in this application
Having said that I wonder what the statement " amazing life with good use" is meant to convey
It is known saphires have cut up to 2-250 hours with no signs of deteoration or one cut and they are done on the very same machine with similar settings
So what is Amazing life Shank? and under what conditions is this achieved?
Cheers

I think you already cutted with diamond stylus...
diamond is more solid than a saphire, but under certain conditions, it can be much more fragile according to the way in which it can be handled or used.
"Similar settings" and "exactly same setting" are 2 differents things. And this is this little difference that can break your diamond stylus...
A manual instruction is under construction for the stylus
