Noise amp on & amp off

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

Noise amp on & amp off

Hi everyone , I have been doing super silent cuts.
Lately i have been away more than a month i when i came back i started having lot of different trouble shootings.
I'm at this point of life that everything i touch it breaks :(
my computer died , then my needle randomly died (probably cos a bad calibration) , the lid of the top jar got broken and even my one of the voices of my Juno 106 died .
yes all this in a month and a half !

So now I'm having this weird noises amp off and amp on .
My thought is that is a needle noise , so probably i fuck up this needle too , but unfortunately i don't have a replacement now . So just want to have some other opinions
So I'm going straight to the amp with my own IRIIA , passing first from a passive big knob .

here i attach audio samples.
thanks everyone
this forum has been super helpful .

Amp on has mains hum, the general noise just sounds like used diamond noise to me. I suppose the issue is how loud it actually is? It's hard to say as you have not said how loud it is, also with or without diamond heat?

I run my lathes from UPS power supplies (APC) and never had any mains or electrical noises or issues since.

Try plugging the amp into an extension lead going to another room, see if the noise then goes
