where to put oil in Presto k8 motor

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

Hey everyone. i wanna oil up the motor that came with my Presto K8 but i do not see any areas in the motor where i could add it.
usually in the old motors there is a small tube where you can add a few drops but i do not see it.

Any ideas where i can apply some oil or lube?

thanks

I know there is confusion on the oil cups on a K8. I have had several K8's and I don't remember any cups.

My advice would be: Take the motor to a small engine electric motor shop and have them clean, lube and replace any worn bearings, such as the thrust bearing.

If the motor has lasted at lease 50 years or so to now, then this would make them last another 50.

My other advice would be use some sewing machine or fine oil and put a small drop next to the motor shaft and turn by hand to let I run down in the shaft. Be careful not to spill any in side the motor windings, or on any of the rubber surface, etc.
