sand filled records

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

it's not prefect yet, sand can flow but lots of sand still stick on the record,
glue is too hard to control and leave a mess on the inner record
anyone have experience can share with?

Thanks!

this looks so cool! I'm not sure of his public availability but I did lathe cuts for the artist Curtis Godino
who filled them with liquid for his band Worthless

Hi tragwag!your liquid filled record looks so good,i am wonder what kind of glue do you use ? how do you create the middle layer?

here is my way to do the sand filled record

1.prepare two 1mm transparent blank and cut
2.3d print two circle ring, thickness is 1mm too
微信图片_20180713103240.jpg
3.use glue to stick circle rings on one blank and fill the sand in
4.stick another blank on it,done

3d print circle ring is too expensive  those two rings cost me about 5USD,i guess have alternative way?

Cut your sides first in case you mess up a cut and don't want to scrap the whole finished product
