DMM disc oxidation

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

Has anyone experienced copper oxidation of DMM discs after cutting?
I'm not talking about a few days later, but months or years.
Could you gold plate a few microns (metric) to protect the copper?

It's common practice for some plants to grow a very thin nickel film for storage to protect for this very reason.

I found an easy solution, use wood glue.
As in this video for cleaning vinyl LPs

What about storage in oil, e.g. silicone??
