test pressing noise - little scratches or stamper issue

Once you have cut a master laquer, you have metal stampers created and have records pressed from them. Discuss manufacturing here. (Record Matrix Electroforming- Plating, Vinyl Record Pressing.)

Image of a test pressing attached here. Does this look familiar to anyone? It occurs in the same pattern but varies slightly in appearance and sound from record to record. It looks like little scratches on the record to me, but perhaps it's an artifact on the stamper?
someone more familiar with plating might recognize it.

thanks,

Those are not scratches.

Looks like bad plating (electroforming) to me. Could be a spray gun that was not shooting the silvering solution correctly.

It happened after the cut for sure. Real plating guys will chime in I am sure.

Reject that test press!

Hi Kevin,

The blob at the bottom looks like non-fill. The 45 degree streaks may be debris in the stamper or a damaged mother.
If it varies in sound between multiple test pressings it's most likely on the stamper which can be cleaned and new test pressings made for your approval.

Let us know if you get more detailed info and how it ends :)
