Cleaning the "mother" after polishing Ouator.
Hello dear forum members.
I have a question about how to clean the "mother" apès polishing its surface with cotton Ouator.
This polishing leaves dark fat on the face.
Who knows the cleaning process to make the "mother" completely clean?
Which product must use it for cleaning and how? Should you use a brush?
To all, in advance, thank you for your advice and support.
Good luck to all.
P.S .: Sorry for my bad English.

Re: Cleaning the "mother" after polishing Ouator.
Hello and thank you for your answer.
I heard it was better to spend a very fine polishing on the father's surface to break up the groove for an easier release of the vinyl during pressing .
The Ouator is a cotton soaked in liquid polish .

Re: Cleaning the "mother" after polishing Ouator.
Not necessary.
If the cut is good no need for any of this.
If the mother has noise on its surface than one may be able to clean it with polish
De clicking and dehorning is done under a microscope and a very fine tool
To get a better release of the record a flash chrome method is the norm
This also extents the life of the stamper
If you wish to clean negatives and mothers best way is electrolytic cleaning for a few seconds
Your supplier of chemical materials should be able to set you up with the required materials to be able to do it you need a bath and a small dc power supply as well.

Hello MossBoss and thank you for your suggestions.
OK it's noted.
I made this weekend a tank to test the electrochemical cleaning.
You indicate use this approach for several seconds.
What amperage advise you to apply it? 10A?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Re: Cleaning the "mother" after polishing Ouator.
This is a trial and error situation based on your tank anode cathode distance qty and conductivity of the cleaning sulution as well as temp
You can start at some 20 amps go up or down
Till you find a sweet spot
One mother one immersion at a time and only once
Inspection before and after will establish effective settings
