i think the ediphone and dictaphone machines are much overlooked. they are wax cylinder phonographs and with some experimenting can make really first rate recordings, they are plentiful and cheap and although they are not compatible with any edison cylinder phonograph they do allow you to begin experimenting with cylinder recording for pennies on the dollar as compared to any two minute cylinder phonograph, also, this is a 6 MINUTE cylinder phonograph and can make really first rate loud, bright recordings.
