News on Masterscott1?

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

News on Masterscott1?

I am wondering if anyone has verifiable news about Lathe Troll masterscott1, aka Mastahscott, aka Scott Gregory Mitchell, of Florida.

Sorry to be the potential bearer of bad news: I've heard a second-hand report that he is "no longer with us."

There's an atypical lack of online data confirming such a passing. He hadn't visited here since August 2013. Last activity I've seen from him anywhere is May 3, 2014, on Facebook.

Assuming this is true, regards to his friends and family. RIP.

I didn't know him well. He was a comrade who helped people here with the rare repair services he provided, for the short time he was a member of this community.

If this is false, my most sincere apologies for spreading misinformation.
