Glad about my 1st release

Really very glad about my first official vinyl release!
After a contact with Thanos of Lost Bodies (GR) we agreed for a short lathe cut run of 20 copies of their 2008 album " The end of time"!
The original album consists of a 73min single track so there was a need for edit and remaster for my needs.
I ended up keeping the at 27min for a single sided disc.
My work was done on my Rek-O-Kut Master Pro lathe
(V & B5 @270LPI) and a Presto 1-D with Tungsten embossing stylus.
Embossing cone angle is 90 degrees and cutter head angle is 88 degrees.
After some tests i ended emboss with groove width a little less than 2mil as the background noise is more acceptable for me. Playback is fine as long the antiskating is set correctly. I could listen clear with no problems using my Grado Statement with tracking force at 1.5grams and antiskating at 1grams!

Diving straight into the deep waters, with a 27 minute side as a first release!

Congratulations, the result looks great and that modified Presto 1-DA head sounds amazing! Keep up the good work!

By the way, post a picture of the laser etching on the other side, it looks really cool and will surely give ideas and inspiration to others!

That's my liking and as you already heard on my second release, it is an 9 minutes ambient track on a 7" Transparent disk @33,1/3 rpm!
(Really happy about my lathe's ability!)

Well, after i made the Triangle stylus i was triggered and made a test cut of this (same track)!
Each sample is from the start of the track, both recorded @33rpm at the outer side of a 12" disk (both on black vinyl).
Sound level is not the same but very close. EQ is the same at High freq but on Triangle is abit lower at 530-600Hz.

Solid Tungsten Cone @ 0:00
Tungsten Triangle @ 1:10
Stylus_Cone_TRI_The end of time.mp3

*Please ignore the surface noise of the first part -
its because of countless times of playback :)

Sounds nice! Did you prep the disc with lighter fluid to remove the glue from the protective coating? You could also try one of our embossing sapphires from recordlatheparts.com. When dialed in you can get a VERY low noise floor and get rid of a lot of that crackle.

Yes , i have tried lot and various solutions but lighter fluid (zippo) is the best for embossing!
I have try your sapphire and have very good results o er the solid tungsten cone. If you like you can follow this link (https://www.lathetrolls.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=8676) and let me know your opinion!
