I find the Boden book invaluable, and very obtainable! Have yet to find the AES book....

You can order the AES book directly from them, it's printed on demand so it takes a few weeks to receive. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to check the first box to add to cart, it's $40 for non-members.

Hello,

Which book is the best? it's difficult to answer. I guess it depends on what you're expecting and what you're able to understand.
I have both and can tell you my feedback as a newbie.

Regarding the AES book ( table of contents here : http://www.aes.org/publications/anthologies/downloads/jaes_disk-anthology-1.pdf )
I think it's difficult. Lots of mathematics, graphs and formulas. It is sort in chronological order (1953-1980). For me, it's too much information that I'm not able to handle and use efficiently.

About Larry Boden's book (table of contents here : http://www.ebay.com/itm/BASIC-DISC-MASTERING-2nd-Ed-Boden-for-record-lathe-Neumann-Westrex-Scully-/281520152307?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item418be89ef3 )
It's more newbie friendly. At least the first 50 pages. Then you have a LOT of appendix. If you're curious there's always something interesting to see.

Finally, I think it's difficult to compare these books :)

You're welcome :)
It's a pity I don't live in Paris otherwise I could have shown you both.
Anyway, I hope you will enjoy your present
