New users, new questions!! (Presto K8)

Hi all!
I am a music and media researcher working out of the University of Cambridge, living in Toronto, ON right now.
I've just bought a Presto K8 off ebay, looking to cut discs from Apollo masters, some picnic plates and acrylic (all with different styli of course!)

Given the K8 operates at 33rpm and the machine came with adapter for 45rpm and 78rpm, I am hoping to cut discs with all three speeds. With a new stylus, what playback cartridges would be appropriate for use on a modern turntable?

Lastly, I have a profoundly amateur question to ask: which is the appropriate orientation of the stylus in the cutting head?
