SCAM: Vanrock E-101 Record Cutter for sale

Distinct from the "Members Only" section about business disputes, this is a section for those special few sellers who have distinguished themselves through clearly intentional efforts to scam multiple customers. If you intend to start a thread here, please check it with Steve E. first.

WARNING: See mrlogikal's comment below regarding the suspected fraudulence of this sale.

I am selling my Vanrock E-101 Japanese Record Cutter Recorder WORKS Atom A-101.

Vanrock E-101 Disc Cutter - Made in Japan (Aka Atom A-101)

This machine is fully restored, tested, and is fully working.

A rare, automatic record cutting machine from the 80s, in beautiful condition. All motor belts were replaced, all moving parts cleaned and re-greased.

This lathe cuts 7" inch blanks at 33 or 45 RPM. You can control input levels of line or mic (mono), there is an auto-level option with a compressor controlling the input level (Great for protecting your stylus). You can fine-tune the platter speed of both 33 and 45. This unit can cut PVC, polycarbonate and lacquer blanks, even CD's with the correct stylus.

Comes in a beautiful suitcase, with the original key, three manuals (In Japanese with illustrations), delux record clamp, original sapphire stylus with heating wire, original power cable, stereo to mono RCA cable. Runs on 100W which is the Japanese power rating, you will need a converter depending on where you are.

It's very compact and you can carry it with you anywhere and even start a mobile cutting booth.

Power turns on, platter turns, lathe moves forward, input + VU meter works, cutter head receiving signal, cutting head is cutting well. For superior results, it's advised to purchase a diamond stylus and blank records from the Myshank online store. The included sapphire stylus is for reference/learning process.

Cutter will be properly wrapped and protected for secure shipping via express registered courier. Weighs 13kg.

This is similar to Presto, Vinylium, Grampian, Vinylrecorder, Fairchild, Vestax VRX 2000, A-101, E-101, E101.

Asking price is $2000 shipped. PM if interested.
Thanks for looking

I think you mean 100 volts (not 100 watts).

Did you ever end up selling it? Your last offer was the best I have seen so far with most going for approx. 3K. I will be putting mine on the market soon and it is in fine condition as well and comes with two MyShank synthetic diamond styli. I would super surprised if that lathe did not sell. If I didn't already have one, I would've jumped at it.

This sale was completely fraudulent. There were quite a few red flags during our correspondence that inevitably lead to me backing out of purchasing the Vanrock E-101.

Negatives:
1. Seller wanted money transferred to his bank account and refused to use any service that would insure the money being transferred (Such as PayPal, Skrill, Venmo, etc).
2. Seller would NOT provide any video proof that there was an actual Vanrock E-101 that existed in his possession. I was extremely tactful when I asked if he would send me a short video clip of the Vanrock E-101 POWERED ON at the very least and a small piece of paper (Post-it or Index Card) with my name written on it, visibly placed somewhere on the machine for me to see in the video clip. To which he responded by telling me that it was already packaged and had been since I told him I wanted to buy it.
3. I offered to pay half up front and pay the other half when the package arrived and without hesitation or any assurance, he quickly accepted without adding any stipulations. Showing me that he was too eager to just get something out of this transaction instead of being concerned about getting paid in full like someone who was selling anything like this would do.
4. Sellers Phone# was located in Ohio. Wanted money sent to New York. Package was being shipped from Wisconsin. Told me he lived in a completely different state than any of the ones I just listed. Seller sent me pictures and video of a Vanrock.... But sent it from some random woman's name & email address. The pictures did not show anything I requested because it could not be removed from the package.

Positives:
1. Seller was willing to take half of his asking price with little to no negotiation at all! IF THIS SELLER WAS LEGITIMATE you could get one hell of a deal buying from him.

That was a good common sense approach.
