Yeah I have a few of these, tried cutting/embossing early on with no luck.
definitely not worth $10 a piece for use as blanks.
pretty neat to look at though!

If I'm not mistaken, they're being sold in packs of 10 for $10.00, so $1.00 per disc. Does anyone know if the center hole is the same as a standard 45? I have a box of 7" discs that are similar, but with no brand marking. They have a small center hole, and a drive pin hole. The seem to be ok, not great, but ok if I record at 78, but very noisy at 33 1/3. Maybe they were made for embossing, and not cutting.

I've bought boxs ov 100 for 9.99$ on the bay. that's a fair price Id say (was a few yrs back).
very contrived devices for which they are.
first stage un-user/consumer friendly.
An extremely elaborate assembly to make compact.
I was told some moons back that some guys got together to reissue these disks with a slightly better formula possibly.
Meaning not all are vintage. this was done I'm told due to the deteriorating factor ov os material. brittle, stiffning etc.
yes standard 45 meant for embossing.
Just like any medium you need to exp to find a sweet spot with gear etc.
Cheers
