It's a turntable only. But so good that if you put a Vinyl Recorder or Vinylium overhead cutter on it, you would have a pretty good lathe.

That one has a linear tracking arm... and it's the older model, not the same motor..

You'd want at least a SP-10 MKII with a SH-10E to use as a cutting turntable.. if you can afford the SP-10MKIII it's the same motor as a SP-02 Motor upgrade for the Neumanns..
generally its for reproduction.. but i like to play wif it sometimes.. :P

I am better off with a Technics SL 1210 MK5G at $ 1300.00. I was wondering what kind of arm was on that SP 10. It looked like a cutting arm. A linear arm ? Never heard of that but I am inexperienced. $ 14 grand and $ 7 grand for an SP 10 ? That's insane ! They are 30 years + old and I am sure a nightmare with parts. Not practial.

There is no tonearm. You mount the motor platter into a plinthe that has a tonearm on it. So, you can use an sp10 with whatever tonearm you like.
