Leitz Microscope Light
Have a VMS-66 and it is missing the leitz microscope illumination attached to the microscope. Anyone have a lead on an extra?
Image with the bulb isn't mine, mine is the one missing.

Would be keen to find an LED for the microscope if anybody has a source.

Re: Leitz Microscope Light
Most of these have LEDs on the sides as well as the end. The LEDs on the sides go to waste and the LEDs at the end don't provide enough light. Such an LED needs to be "forward firing" with all LEDs on the end (none on the sides) but then diameter is too big to fit.
Re: Leitz Microscope Light
Original bulb is open on the sides too. You could make a cone shaped deflector around it...Anyways easy to find regular bulbs so why bother?. I had one broke on me in the last 6 yearsAussie0zborn wrote: ↑Thu Apr 09, 2020 8:33 pmMost of these have LEDs on the sides as well as the end. LED flashlight and a wall wart. Been using one in place of the stock lamp for years. All the forward facing brightness you ever dreamed of for about $10.

Got an LED flashlight from amazon with zoom feature to fine tune the light, seems to work fine when holding it up to it. Now I'll have to find a solution to hold it there cleanly (home depot scavenging).

I have a small chunk of PVC, some gaffer's tape and a hose clamp.
Not sure why the image is rotated 90 degrees but you get the idea.
