Hard Times?

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

Hard Times?

Dear Pressers & Cutters,

It seems that the huge rising demand for records has stopped,
or even going down. The results are much shorter turnaround times
and hopefully better prices for customers, because in the past 1-3 years,
prices are greatly increased at some places.

As some people may know, in 2020 I left the MY45 pressing plant which I founded in 2005.

My goal was always to press good records for a reasonable price.
I still know the challenge of pressing records, where to create some income
and where not.

So, if you think your press shop can have some drops of oil to run
smoother and more efficiently, I can support you with useful information.
I also do overhaul and repair of Alpha Toolex presses & can help with disc cutting lathes.

And finally, I do lacquer cutting on my lovely VMS80, electroplating
& mastering for a nice price, if somebody is interested ;)

Feel free to contact me. Thanks for reading,
Andreas

Hello, nice equipment.
Tell me if you have any damaged copper plates for sale, I mean those for DMM which were damaged during recording or cutting due to various reasons, if you have one for sale, I will buy a damaged copper mirror.

Where are you getting your lacquer from? But on a high level, love this question and provocation. We will be in touch!
