Searching first Record Cutter in Germany up to 500€

Hello cutters!

I am searching for a first machine to cut/emboss with. The lathe lead screw mechanism and cutter head would be most important, I don't necessarily need a complete lathe with platter, etc. at the moment since I would use one of my record players for that. I am not afraid of crafting if needed (I am working on DIY lathe also in the meantime). I don't really expect to find something for up to 500€ since prices for useable cutters seem to be much much higher, but more money is not available at the moment. But anyway just in case somebody has any old more or less usable assembly in this price range to give away someday I would be more than glad to get a PM from you!

Best regards,

budharpey

Unless you have a REALLY high torque turntable, you will get wow and flutter at best or the needle will stop the turntable at worst... especially if you want to emboss, because you need a lot of weight.

I have a strong relatively dual machine which does not have too much wow and flutter compared to other record players i have experimented. I want a first lathe mainly for experimenting and getting a feel for the thing before I will decide to spend more money on proper equipment.
I also am working on diy lathe projects on the way.. But I really would like to find and buy a Presto/Rekokut or similar like leadscrew mechnism for being able to cut. With my diy projects I have never been able to really try to cut so I only embossed so far...

I'm selling a federal recorder on eBay right now... Just the turntable and overhead mechanism.... I may be able to work a deal with you on a head if that machine was of interest...

Yes, it's not an easy task to find a Presto-quality-like lathe here in Germany. Bavaria, near Passau. Where are you from?
