URP putting more presses online...

Once you have cut a master laquer, you have metal stampers created and have records pressed from them. Discuss manufacturing here. (Record Matrix Electroforming- Plating, Vinyl Record Pressing.)

That says a lot about the future of vinyl. They have 30 presses working 24/7 and they're putting another 16 presses online.

At this rate, someone will be making new presses soon.

How do you know it was pressed at Erika when so many plants do splatter? Do you know this for a fact or are you assuming?

URP can do something no other plant does... two extruders each running a different colour making one vinyl puck (biscuit) in a half and half colour. While I don't agree with this method, add a handful of cold vinyl pellets to the puck and you have a splatter record.

Other plants that do splatter in the USA are Gotta Groove, Musicol and Palomino. There are others around the world that can do it, too. When we did splatter, we used a sandwich toaster to heat coloured pellets that were then added to the extruded biscuit. The idea of pressing cold pellets is worrying as they could damage the stamper.

Let us know how you know - thanks.
