vinyl recorder with precision motor

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

imho, setting "pararell to earth" isn't a good thing. Unless you did the same with your working table, VR table, VR turntable, and VR haevy platter. Then it's OK. If you don't do it, keep it pararell to the platter.

Be careful i think souri didn't calculate his (precision= i'm not sure) platter vs Technics spindle/bearing
That means in the near future maybe will you need again to install a new one Technics spindle/bearing.
It's better to speak with Mike http://www.mikenewaudio.com/bearing.php to find a permanent solution for your problem.

Hi Marcy,

I'm very happy that you finally managed to resolve your problem!
I consider this thread has vital information for all VR owners so maybe it should be archived for all to discover on a future search.
