Vacuum Vibration on recordings

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

Hey Guys,

Quick Question here, I realized lately that in my cuts I can hear the vibration of the vacuum... I'm on a VR and I have the little vacuum Souri's sells instead of a big shopvac....

I wonder if there's anti vibration tape.... or if anyone of you is facing this problem too

Let me know
Cheers
Ben

Hey.
I don't have a VR. But with my Presto 6N cutting with diamond I had the same problem.

What I needed to do was reduce the LPI a little and adjust the vacuum tube near the stylus (2mm).

Hope this helps

Anderson
