Vanrock lathe in New York City, maintenance

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

Vanrock lathe in New York City, maintenance

I have a vanrock portable lathe from Japan. It turns on and runs but having a hard time getting a deep etch. Gets stuck and cuts on a loop, but makes audible sound from imput when played. I have no experience with the inner workings of lathes but I am sure it would be light work for someone with experience to evaluate and resolve the problem. Is there any one in the tristate area who does maintenance and repair? I could come to you and compensate for your time. Thanks!
