Swarf problems with VR?

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

Swarf problems with VR?

After getting rid of wow problems and squeaks, my new problem in this never ending cycle is swarf, Im attempting to cut full sides of LPs but after about 10 minutes cutting the swarf appears to all get pulled round the spindle and clamp and when the vaccum tries to pull it in it just ends up getting blocked and the stylus quickly gets covered in swarf and i have to abort!

Anyone got any advice? Sick of wasting LP blanks now lol

it's listed other places on the forum, probably more generally.
try baby powder through the suction system, fine tuning the suction tube distance from the stylus, anti-static fluid, and general humidity management in your cutting room
making lathe cuts on a Presto 6N, HIFI stereo cuts on vinylrecorder
