Anyone Resharpen Sapphire shanks?

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

Anyone Resharpen Sapphire shanks?

I am asking this question because I met this lathe cutter the other day who was cutting lathes for Pabst Blue Ribbon. He was using a Vinyl Recorder and he told me that someone out in New York resharpens Sapphire shanks.

He said the person that does this service is on the Lathe trolls site but I forgot the person screen name.

He also mentioned something about a Facebook lathe cutters group but I am not about of Facebook so I can't access or search for that.

If anyone know of this person who does this service could you send me a website or email to contact them?

I am sure many people on here would like to know as well.

Thanks for the link.

I do not do embossing as i only do cutting with my lathe.
So i do not know if the embossing sapphires will work with normal lathe cutting.

I will contact the guy and see if he can help.

Thanks!

I distribute Rich's embossig styli. But it seems you want cutting needles resharpened? Right now I don't know of anyone who does it, but Opcode has been talking about doing it soon.
