Micro-Point 1990 Cutting Stylus Info/Specifications

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

Micro-Point 1990 Cutting Stylus Info/Specifications

I've started digging up some of the stuff I accumulated when I was first into cutting records, about 1977 to about 1992 or so. Somewhat surprised by the oddball stuff I hung on to.

One item that may be valuable (for all I know this has been posted before, it will take me a LONG time to read everything posted here) especially for those looking for info on creating cutting styli
are some of the details, science, and specs in this Micro-point brochure from about 1990. I believe I have successfully created a pdf from it. 7 pages. The last page is their price list for master record
blanks and various styli. I note the price of a 10" master blank disc has gone up less than two bucks from 1990 at Micro-Point to 2017 at Apollo!

Feel free to read, download and save if it's of use to you:
