T560 - Acetate

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

Hello all,

Would anyone out there be able to advise me on cutting acetate dubs.
Adjustments and settings for cutting with the T560 machine + head.
Angle, heat, what cutting stylus fits. etc

Many Thanks
Dub

You'll need precision plate and motor. Beware with acetates, that lead out groove when you stop the motor to make the final loop, don't go over 1 and 1/4 turn! More than two turns, guaranteed to damage the stylus (it will go through the sheet!).
