EMIDICTA: Lathe- maybe?

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

Found in an op shop today. The chap seems to think it cuts magnetic discs? Has a mic attached... might grab it . Any info would be great

Looks like an old fashioned dictaphone. Imagine using that!
Interesting historical piece but who knows on what principle it works on.
What's he asking dollar-wise?

Haha I didn't realize this was posted by spider death. WHAT'S UP SPIDER DEATH? Even if this machine didn't work at all it has like this weird cold war art deco effing bakelite Soviet lamp gangster rap.....charm. I'd probably put my toy dinosaurs on it. But damn. That is way cool. If you have a strobe disc will you please measure rpm?
