What is the cheapest lathe that will give you decent audio?

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

No, unless you get it used from someone else but then you don't have any support from Souri.

What is the cheapest car that can carry my stuff and doesn't feel like it's from the 60's?

The answer will depend n how heavy your stuff is and how much space it takes, what terrain you will be driving on, how far you want to drive and how often, how fast you expect to get there, how comfortable you expect to feel while driving, how much you vale your life and well being, and how much money you are willing to spend for fuel, maintenance repairs, and the car itself.

If your stuff weighs in at 40 tons, takes up 12m2, you want to drive on rocky mountain, 10 000 miles per day every day, at 120mph, while feeling like you're sitting in your living room, while being super safe, getting 15000 mpg, zero maintenance, and all this for five dollars, it simply won't happen. What do you define as good audio quality?
Is the Neumann SX68 cutterhead not up to your standards, since it is from the 60's? How about a VMS66 lathe? Or a Scully with a Westrex 3D head? Lo-fi 60's crap...?

Yes exactly. I think what he is looking for is called a CD burner.

Uh...records from the 60s were cut on pretty damn good stuff. So good that records are still made using them.
