Corrosion of the head...

Does anyone know what this build-up is, and what type of oil or anything should be applied top clean this?

Try with Sidol. Important is that there isn't oxide inside, near the coils, otherwise are pains.
Have you tried the head ? Is working ?

The coils have continuity. I have not been able to test it yet since there is no proper amplifier for it yet. I am thinking of getting two mono block amplifiers to drive each side.

It does not look so bad, I cleaned it up quite a bit. I do not believe it ad reached the coils, only near the armature.

If anyone has an ortofon head they are planning on using, I fully recommend opening it for a cleaning. It is a little imperative.
