Restoration of an old stamper

Hi All,

I have a metal stamper that is now 30 years old and has lost some of it's silver coating, it is not physically damaged in anyway, just faded/deteriorated through loss of silver on the surface.

I would like to have it restored to it's formal glory, is this possible and if so do any of you wise people know where abouts?

Thanks in advance

A stamper shouldn't have any silver on it at all. I suspect oxidisation is at play here. Try a nice gentle metal polish. Did you intend to press with it or is it just for display?
