Nespressound

Anything goes! Inventors! Artists! Cutting edge solutions to old problems. But also non-commercial usage of record cutting. Cost- effective, cost-ineffective, nutso, brilliant, terribly fabulous and sometimes fabulously terrible ideas.

All right these are experiments only for fun with coffee capsule (actually NOT nespresso ones) to make tiny speakers.
There is absolutely no pretention in this and I assume this may look childish for the gurus here who build neumann-like lathe heads while watching tv but whatever...
I ordered a spool of copper wire on ebay. Once received I build a quick & dirty coil winder... I will add a turn counter later.
Unfortunately, the only neodynium magnet I had was too big to fit in the capsule... I'll buy smaller ones .
Anyway, all advices are welcome...

NICE. I have no idea what I'm looking at but it seems worthy!

Sweet speaker chaosbc!

They work really well and I awlays thought the magnet always had to be in in side of the coil.

Thanks! The lap counter comes from a cassette player. If you are lucky you can find one that counts one unit per revolution of the axis, but not allways is like that.
I grabbed mine from an AmstradCPC (8 bit computer) cassette unit.I've got more , I can send one to you,PM if you want it.

This is really nice from you but I grabbed a digital tally and reed switches from ebay...
That said I am happy to read that parts of the almighty cpc 464 are still very alive and used...Actually writting this I just realized I do have a CPC 464 somewhere in my basement...but I cannot tear it down...I'd prefer a self surgery on my own brain, my heart would be less ripped in two

I ordered a tally counter on ebay few days ago for 1 euro including shipping (lol), hacked the count button and connected it to a (normally-open) reed switch.
The neodynium magnet is on the crank... et voilà ! Nothing high tech nor innovative but quick and funny to do.
