Who can help me with my VR T560 cutterhead?

Anything goes! Inventors! Artists! Cutting edge solutions to old problems. But also non-commercial usage of record cutting. Cost- effective, cost-ineffective, nutso, brilliant, terribly fabulous and sometimes fabulously terrible ideas.

Great news coming from a great machinist, Im hoping that it will be able to mount on my ROK m12! Ive asked about the mounting bracket before cuz I wanted to swap out my stock cutterhead that came with my challenger, didnt order it yet cuz I was waiting on a cutterhead solution that I could afford to come into picture, ive got my fingers crossed one this one!
amaximum respect,
Patrick

short update,...
we had heavy static problems. have very much tried. Wax, denoiser etc.

But the best thing we have made:

A comb made of carbon fibers (connected to earth), glides over the disk surface.
Since then we have zero problems with Static charge !!!

further updates and the new Cutter Head follow in the coming days.

best regards Scotty

hi people ... after my accident, I am finally back! What's in my state of affairs? Current status: Our Lathe has improved a lot! Variable groove pitch (width and depth!), Feed Crew = sensorcontroled (position). Grounded brushes as a comb (these are operated via the platter!) Thus prevent complete a Static Charge.(Static charge = 0% !!!) Cutting head is completely earthed !!! Cutting head is not a feedback head !!! Analog Endmastering !!! Thats it! The result we achieved with this is absolutely brilliant! + 12dB, total noise free, brilliant treble, crisp bass. We are more than satisfied !!!!!!

best reguards Scotty

i will be back... 8)

Hi Trolls and friends, i bought the vinyl recorder from Souri 4 months ago.

Great machine and a great man, everything was great until we moved studio space and then we encountered a humming sound from the Amplifier from souri, so we decided to change the plug into several different 13amp mains sockets around the room, somewhere better and some were worse, however, there is a slight hum when you turn the amp on when cutting with no music, turn off the amp it sounds fine and clean. I have a few questions as a noob and need to work out a few things.

1. SOURIS MIXER VOLUME AND GAIN IS CONTROLLED BY THE PFL AND THE CHANNEL 2 FADER, I CAN NOT FIND THE BALANCE RIGHT UNLESS I HAVE THE PFL KNOB REALLY LOW (WHICH DAMPENS THE HUM AND GETS RID OF IT ALMOST) BUT THEN THE CUTS ARE REALLY LOW AND IF I WAS TO TURN THE GAIN UP THROUGH THE FADER IT WILL DISTORT and sound bad.

2. BAD FREQUENCY ISSUES WITH HIGHS AND BRIGHTNESS, WE GO FROM DIGITAL TO POLY AND POLY THERE IS A LACK OF HIGHS AND PUNCH, ITS VERY DARK AND NOT WELL ROUNDED. Why could this be?

3. GROUNDING LOOP OR WRONG ROUTINE OR STYLUS ISSUES (EVEN THOUGH HAVE A BRAND NEW NEEDLE)

4. THE MACHINE WAS PERFECT BEFORE CHANGING A FEW PHONOS FOR THE BETTER

PLEASE HELP
THANKS

I m very happy, after three days of searching, I asked directly Souri and he will offer me support to repair and fix it. So, despite of all comments about him, I am still thinking that he is great. He always responds my Emails, so my decision is to send it to him. I won't experiment more with the original machine, but since I have ordered new Tweeters, I will try thing with them.

Best Regards! And ask allways him! SOURI IS THE BEST !

After a bad experience with that man, I will try to try my luck for myself, after all, it was my mistake to try to send something to a guy who shows very little gray matter.
Yesterday I bought that glue, but it does not help me, this morning I bought that epoxi, my idea is to give it a good bath and let them rest.
A friend of the forum told me to take the test with aluminum, luckily my neighbor had two cans of beer. What do you recommend me 'directly with metal? They explained to me that if I wanted to go up to 10Khz, the metal would be recommendable .. I was going to have a lot more brightness in itself.
I have 4 loudspeakers and I am waiting for it to see if my original cutting head finally arrives since after almost a month that engineer named Souri has not been able and his excuse was the silicone ring. No comment.
I have also bought sewing needles, of different sizes and diameters and this piece that I had to strengthen an Ikea bed. Now I have to put on gloves, make the mixture of resins and patience ... tomorrow I get results.
But I need your advice ... Paper with epoxy? or Beer aluminum?

A while back I had access to a Vinyl Recorder dynamic cutterhead. I drew the body in CAD. I've exported an STL and am making it freely available to the community. Enjoy!

Here is the VR Cutterhead body as STL. DIY until your heart is filled with joy... :-)
