Who can help me with my VR T560 cutterhead?

Anything goes! Inventors! Artists! Cutting edge solutions to old problems. But also non-commercial usage of record cutting. Cost- effective, cost-ineffective, nutso, brilliant, terribly fabulous and sometimes fabulously terrible ideas.

Who can help me with my VR T560 cutterhead?

Hello everybody and all experimenters & Innovators,

here's Marc from Amsterdam (The Netherlands) and i have a question about my Vinylrecorder T560. A few weeks ago, my cutterhead broke (the right channel) and i tried everything to repair it. But there are so many ferrofluid neodym tweeters on the internet, and now i don't know what to do anymore....I only use the T560 as a hobby, and not for commercial use. But it's not very nice to cut records with one channel (sounds horrible), and some mails to Souri were not really successful. Now i'm thinking of a Caruso head from Flo, or the Bladerunner from Todd. Who can help me with my problem, and is there somebody who can sell me an original T560 cutterhead? Maybe the original head is better, but i don't know that.....Thanx for reading, and i wish you all very happy Christmas days! Kind regards, Marc

Hi Sakuszi,

if the cutterhead is ok, the vinylrecorder cuts very very good!

I put some clips on youtube, and in this clip you can see at the end the Vinylrecorder cutting!

Kind regards,

Marc

I think i'm the first person with this little surprise, but here are 30 pictures from the VR cutterhead while it's open 8)

I can not repair this tweeter, so i order two new car tweeters and then i'm gonna try to fix the cutterhead myself!

A few days ago i open the cutterhead from the Vinylrecorder, and after that i made 30 pictures.

This link from Wetransfer, is working until 30 december 2015, and please let me know what you think of the tweeters :)

And thanx Dimi for your tip, and i give it a go!

Merry Christmas and peace!

Marc

Thank you very much for an explanation of what this head is, what mechanisms, cool pictures, but at the same time I am shocked that this is the speakers at 2 $ each and everything so nicely, beautifully recorded. I already burned 8 sets of speakers 15 Watt [a total of 16 pieces], I have no where to buy .. And here such a beautiful surprise, suffice car tweeters $ 4 set, a little glue, paper, wire and tin [unless if you are not I am wrong ..] and it's really beautiful record. Yours sincerely, all the best for Christmas!

Wow cool photos,Your probably right look like paper dip into lacquer for stiffness.
Those speakers Are tweeters, and the black stuff looks like some sort of glue or silicon

Hi Marc!
The speakers used in the vinylrecorder are a little special, but unfortunatly out of production...
You may can source a second hand one, or maybe some special diy speaker companys has one left in stock.
If you cannot repair then I would highly recommend you to upgrade to Caruso head -> best for the money!

Hi

I never tried tweeter drivers I would not use them only
Because they will be very heavy in weight to mount
On the cutter head also too power full

Try light weight speakers/ tweeters

Yes thanks for posting!
I can't believe how these drivers look really lightweight and basic underneath the silicone?
I was expecting some custom wound coils? There appears to be no springs......very interesting, thanks again

You have to congratulate vinylrecorder ! I think they have done a wonderfull job with The t560 and he got this cutter head made from using tweeters great effort
The positive thing is they kept the cost low only 3200 euro that's not expensive compared to Scully or vms systems.

And to make this dream a reality for people to cut there music onto vinyl at home or studio that's fantastic t560 is keeping the vinyl dream alive !

From the pictures looks like the coil is fryed

Just put some new tweeter on even use the original cones if they are ok? And Some glue !

Good luck
