1920 recording blank / fiddle tune / dancing bear

Anything goes! Inventors! Artists! Cutting edge solutions to old problems. But also non-commercial usage of record cutting. Cost- effective, cost-ineffective, nutso, brilliant, terribly fabulous and sometimes fabulously terrible ideas.

i found a box of 50 original 1920 recording blanks, these are deep chocolate brown unlined recording blanks made by Columbia. until 1906 columbia bought all of its recording blanks from Thomas Edison, Edison said " your going to have competition anyway, why not make a profit at it". these are really superb original blank cylinders and are 97 years old. this is a contemporary recording. a mp3 playing on my ipad direct to the cylinder. this is a vertical cut mechanical recording.
