Anything goes! Inventors! Artists! Cutting edge solutions to old problems. But also non-commercial usage of record cutting. Cost- effective, cost-ineffective, nutso, brilliant, terribly fabulous and sometimes fabulously terrible ideas.

You could change the drive system - which would then make it a 45-only system - but it's a L O T of work because it's not like an old phono where they have the springs in place to be able to pull the idler in closer to the smaller size shaft.

And even if you did THAT - the arms on those are way too heavy to be cutting at 45 even if you got a 2-holed or 4-holed blank (or made your own by drilling out).

Remember the old Sing a Song to Mommy booth-lathes at the e.g. fairs/attractions in the mid 50's? The few of those that did 45 (most did 78 a handful did 33) had theirs specially adapted before the small handful of 3-speed cutters came out for 20 minutes before tape became cheap enough to use instead.

Probably easier to find one of those than trying to do this w ltd ret on inv.
