100% pure LP

Turntables, tonearms, preamps, amps, cables, monitor speakers. What do you use to play back your one-off dubplates or pressed records? (related topics, too.)

Hello everyone,

To make a long story short, I was talking with a japanese friend on the Internet the other day. We talked about Toyo Kasei (thanks to Larry Boden- Basic Disc Mastering plant list). Finally that lead us to a PDF file with articles about analog records in general and interviews of Toyo Kasei staff in particular.

PDF icon here : http://www.riaj.or.jp/issue/record/latest/
or direct link : http://www.riaj.or.jp/issue/record/2013/201311.pdf
(btw all is written in japanese sorry)

In this same PDF there is an article about 100% pure LP.
To sum up the main idea, it says that benefiting from their experience gained in SA-CD or SHM-CD, USM Japan and Toyo Kasei challenged to make records with a better sound. They came with a different chemical formula (apparently without additives) and named it 100% pure LP. The record is not black, it's rather "clear". (picture page 9 of the PDF file).

Hence my question, anybody had the opportunity to listen to a 100% pure LP? Is it bringing something interesting or is it just targeting the rich audiophiles niche market?

Is this the old 'super vinyl'. I wasn't aware that it still existed, although I have an old Cat Stevens record that was pressed to it. It is indeed exceptionally quiet noise floor for a vinyl record.
