MSS amp?

Hello I have just acquired an MSS disc cutter CLED/3 and a matching what I presume to be an amplifier. I cannot find any details or information on this item at all. The type No. is LARP 2. Does anyone know anything about this item? I think it is from the late 1950s. It is in an identical metal case with leather handles.

Hi Paul,
I think you're Pretty Much "Bang On" with your speculation about the Lathe being from the late 1950s. I forget where I came across this Advert for a MSS Lathe But it's dated 1959, it looks very close to the Lathe in your Photo.

Some Guy in London had one of these Lathes for sale on the Bay Last Year, or possibly 2014, and it was supplied with this Type of Amp I think, but neither the Lathe nor the Amp looked anywhere as nice as the one you've got, and I seem to recall he wanted a Pretty Tidy Sum for them. Troll member Stevie342000 is very knowledgable on Valve Amps and also quite an Authority on Cecil Watts/Marguerite Sound Studios Gear, so maybe he might be able to give you some insights on your Lathe/Amp Combo
Hope This Helps
 :P :D Soulbear.

Thanks for replying. I have contacted Stevie342000.Hopefully he will be able to shed some light on the amp. I saw a disc cutter on Ebay with an amp but it was not the same type as mine. I have seen a photograph of one on the internet...http://www.phillipsacetates.com/the-studio.html (second photo down) This is the only reference I can find.

Tried to send a message to Stevie but it seems to be sat in my outbox rather than my sent folder. Not sure if he has received it or if I am doing something wrong!

No problem sorted now, messages sit in your out box it just looks like they have not be sent, it confuses many and all of us some of the time.
